Types of siesa grilles

Types of fiberglass gratings

We offer two grating manufacturing processes: moulding and pultrusion. Both methods guarantee exceptional quality and reliable performance:

  • Molded Grates
Molded gratings are created by layering interleaved fiberglass and resin on a mold. The meticulous manufacturing process ensures solid and durable. Their versatile design makes them an excellent choice for a variety of applications in different industries.
  • Pultruded Grates
Pultruded gratings, on the other hand, are assembled after obtaining the beams by means of pultrusion process. They stand out for their greater mechanical resistance. Thanks to the pultrusion process, Pultrusion, offer an ideal solution for applications requiring higher load capacity and durability.
  • Quality, strength and durability guaranteed
Both molded and pultruded fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP) gratings SIESA® are known for their great strength and durability. Their ability to withstand demanding conditions makes them a reliable and durable product for a variety of industrial applications.

CASIN Residential Project: Molded Grating Solution for Artificial Stream

In the residential project ALMOST N, an innovative solution was implemented using molded grid for an artificial stream. The main objective was to block the passage of stones and other debris, ensuring a safe elevation and control of the water flow. This grating not only allows for proper water filtration, but also protects the surrounding areas from possible obstructions that could cause flooding or structural damage.

Thanks to its strong and durable design, the molded grating is ideal for residential environments where safety and aesthetics are crucial. In addition, its installation ensures that the artificial stream maintains a continuous and controlled flow, without compromising the integrity of the environment.

Benefits of the implemented solution:

  • Effective blocking of stones and debris: The molded grate prevents the passage of objects that could obstruct the stream.
  • Optimized security: The safety elevation guarantees the stability of the ground and prevents the risk of erosion or flooding.
  • Durability: Made with durable materials that can withstand the elements and wear and tear of time.
  • Aesthetics and functionality: Perfect integration into residential environments, maintaining a clean and tidy appearance.

This project exemplifies how solutions from YES THAT They can be adapted to the specific needs of each client, providing security and functionality in residential projects.

Installation of Spiral Staircase with Molded Grid Panels for Hydroelectric Project in Dam

Within the framework of an important hydroelectric project, we carried out the installation of a custom made spiral staircaseUsing heavy duty molded gratesThis solution was selected to meet the demanding requirements of the highly humid and corrosive environment characteristic of dams.

Durability and Adaptability to Challenging Environments

The spiral staircase was precisely engineered to perfectly fit the needs of the project. Each tread was cut in a semi-rectangular manner, ensuring a seamless integration with the structure. The molded gratings we used are specifically designed to withstand humid environments, where corrosion is one of the biggest long-term challenges.

Long Term Behavior

A notable factor of this project is the exceptional durability of the installed grids. Even after 22 years from installation, the grids have shown no signs of corrosion, discoloration or fractures. In addition, they maintain its anti-slip properties intact, essential for safety in wet work areas.

No Maintenance, No Corrosion

Over these more than two decades, the grids have not required any type of maintenance, which confirms their excellent wear resistance and corrosion. The long-lasting performance under these extreme conditions demonstrates the value of molded gratings in demanding industrial applications, such as this hydroelectric project.

This success story highlights the ability of our solutions to provide safety and long-term durability in the most challenging environments, with minimal maintenance and optimal structural strength.

What type of anti-slip is used in SIESA® gratings?

  • Meniscus Type Surface: This rough surface gives perfect grip and stability to the footwear. It consists of forming a concave surface in the upper part of the soleras.
  • Top Type Surface (silica sand): This type of surface allows excellent grip and stability of the footwear and does not allow the accumulation of water or impurities.

What are Fireproof Resins?

The fire retardant resins They are a material that rejects combustion and protects against fire, either being incombustible or flame retardant, type:

  • Polyester resin
  • Flame spread index 15 in accordance with ASTM E84 standard
  • Fire retardant polyester resin
  • Fire retardant vinyl ester resin
  • High fire resistance phenolic resin ASTM 635

What is the difference between molded and pultruded glass grating?

The main difference between molded fiberglass grating and pultruded fiberglass grating lies in the manufacturing methods and their resulting characteristics:

  • Molded grille:

    • It is manufactured through a molding process in which resin and glass fibers are placed in an open mold, forming a structure with a uniform grid.
    • It offers improved strength in multiple directions, making it ideal for applications where corrosion resistance and durability are required.
    • It is best suited for environments with high exposure to corrosive substances and where non-slip surfaces are required.
  • Pultruded grating:

    • It is manufactured using the pultrusion process, in which continuous fibers impregnated with resin are pulled through a die, forming I or T type bars. This gives it high mechanical strength in a single direction (unidirectional).
    • It is ideal for applications requiring high rigidity and bending resistance.
    • Pultruded grating is best suited for environments where greater structural strength is required, but less exposure to corrosive substances compared to molded grating.

Both grids are non-conductive, corrosion-resistant, and lightweight, but each is better suited for specific applications depending on the type of load and environment.
